CONSULTATION ON PROPOSED CHANGES TO ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR 2028–2029
In accordance with the School Admissions Code (2021) and the Essex County Council Coordinated Admissions Scheme, the Governing Body of St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School & Nursery, Canvey Island, is consulting on proposed changes to our Admissions Policy for the 2028–2029 academic year.

The Governing Body proposes to increase the priority of children who attend St Joseph’s Nursery within the oversubscription criteria.
This change aims to:
strengthen continuity of care and education
safeguard and build our school community
support children’s transition into Reception
recognise the commitment families make by choosing our Nursery
ensure stability and security for our youngest children

The consultation will run for six school weeks, from:
Monday 2nd November 2026 – Friday 11th December 2026

All responses will be considered by the Governing Body.
The final Admissions Policy for 2028–2029 will be published by 15 March 2027, in line with statutory requirements.
